Agho Island
Concepcion, Iloilo, Philippines, Philippines
Agho Island is a small, mostly uninhabited eight-hectare island located 7 nautical miles northeast of Concepcion town proper in northeastern Iloilo, Philippines, situated in the Visayan Sea between Igbon Island and Malangabang Island.
This privately owned hidden gem boasts powdery white sand made of shattered coral, crystal-clear calm waters that look like shimmering glass, and a breathtaking coral garden, making it a peaceful paradise perfect for swimming, meditation, and enjoying tranquility away from crowds. The island is home to tropical birds including sea hawks and Tabon birds, offers great distant views of Mount Manaphag, and features shallow calm bays created by small bay formations.
Visitors reach Agho Island via a 30-minute pumpboat ride from Concepcion, which itself is about 3-4 hours by bus or van from Iloilo City, and the island currently has a small nipa hut and resort owned by the Villarias clan. Despite being more isolated and less visited than nearby destinations, its unspoiled beauty, serenity, and cinematic views make it an underrated treasure among Concepcion's 16 island gems.
