Alby gård
Moss, Norway, Norway
Alby gård is the oldest farm on Jeløya island in Moss, Norway, with roots tracing back to the early Viking Age and first mentioned in records from 1389.
The main manor house, rebuilt in Empire style after a devastating fire in 1866, was acquired by the Moss municipality in 1963 from its last private owner, shipowner Biørn Biørnstad. Today, it houses Galleri F15, a prominent contemporary art gallery, along with a cozy café famous for its Alby-kringle Danish pastry, set amid idyllic parklands featuring fruit trees, acacia alleys, and paths evoking a beachside feel near the sea.
