Apor Mansion in Turia de Jos (Lower Turia), Covasna County, Romania, is a historic Székely noble residence first documented in 1536 as a three-room manor, severely damaged during Mihai Viteazul's 1600 invasion and rebuilt in the 1630s by Lázár Apor I, likely modeled after the painted Zăbala manor where he wed in 1629. Expanded by his son András Apor III with 1651 wall paintings, then transformed in late Renaissance style around 1693 by István Apor VI after Thököly incursions—adding vaulted stucco rooms, ornate stone portico, and balcony—it gained its current Classical form post-1814 under Baron Lázár Apor VI with a two-story central risalit and adjacent Neo-Gothic family chapel built in 1831. Expelled in 1949 nationalization, the Apor family—key figures like chronicler Péter Apor who wrote Metamorphosis Transylvaniae here—saw it restituted; excavations since 2002 uncovered 17th-century art, restoring the roof and wooden ceilings while preserving its layered Renaissance-to-Classical heritage.
