Ballinlough Castle is a historic country house and castle estate in Ireland that traces its origins to the early 17th century, with evidence suggesting a fortified residence existed on the site by around 1614.

Over the centuries, it was expanded and remodeled, evolving from a defensive structure into an elegant castellated manor that combines Gothic and Georgian architectural features. The castle has long been associated with the O'Reilly family, who later adopted the surname Nugent.

It is notable because descendants of the family continued to live there for generations, making it one of the rare examples of an Irish Catholic family remaining in possession of its ancestral home since the 17th century. Set amid parkland, woodland, and lakeside scenery, the castle is known for its striking towers, battlements, and historic interiors.
