Ballyconnell Castle, later known as Ballyconnell House, is a historic estate in County Cavan, Ireland.

The original castle was built around 1620 for Walter Talbot during the Plantation of Ulster and served as the residence of the local landowning family who helped develop the town of Ballyconnell. The castle was eventually destroyed by fire, and in 1764 a Georgian-style country house was constructed on its foundations.

This new residence, known as Ballyconnell House, reflected the shift from fortified castles to more comfortable country estates favored by the Irish gentry. Today, the site is valued for its historical connection to the development of Ballyconnell and the Plantation era. Although the original castle no longer survives, archaeological discoveries and the later house preserve an important part of the region’s architectural and social history.
