Ballymarkahan Castle is a ruined 15th-century tower house located near Quin in County Clare, Ireland.

It was built by the influential MacNamara family, one of the dominant Gaelic clans in the region, and formed part of a network of fortified residences that helped them control and defend their lands. The castle was already recorded as a ruin by the 19th century, but substantial remains still survive.

Its design includes thick stone walls, defensive features, and the remnants of a spiral staircase, reflecting the practical architecture of medieval Irish tower houses. Today, Ballymarkahan Castle stands as a quiet reminder of County Clare’s medieval past.
