Basiao Island is a small, scenic island located in Catbalogan City, Samar province, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.
Composed of three islets connected by natural karst formations and coastal deposits, it lies about three nautical miles from the city and faces Majaba Island to the northwest. As one of Catbalogan's 57 barangays with around 700 residents, the island boasts rich marine biodiversity including diverse mollusks, fish, crustaceans, seahorses, and groupers.
Its clear waters and coral gardens make it ideal for snorkeling, diving, kayaking, sailing, and sport fishing, positioning it as a promising spot for eco-tourism and marine resorts.
