The Botanical Garden of Poltava National Pedagogical University (named after V.G. Korolenko) is a small university garden in Poltava that combines an arboretum, open‑ground collections and a compact greenhouse complex.

It has an arboretum of about 1.8 hectares with more than 130 species of trees and shrubs, an alpine hill planted with several dozen rock‑garden species, and a greenhouse of roughly 200 square metres housing around 600 species, forms and varieties from different parts of the world, plus about 500 species grown outdoors. 

Created as a practice base for the university’s botany and biology teaching, the garden focuses on propagating ornamental and useful plants, maintaining diverse collections for education, and offering guided visits where organized groups can learn about the flora and even buy seedlings, making it both a training site for future teachers and a modest local attraction for plant enthusiasts.
