Burtnieki Manor Park

Burtnieki, Latvia, Latvia

---

Burtnieki Manor Park is a historic landscaped park in the village of Burtnieki, on the shores of Lake Burtnieks in northern Latvia.

The park was created in the mid-19th century by the von Schroeder family as part of the Burtnieki Manor estate, which had developed near the ruins of an earlier Livonian Order castle. Known as one of Latvia’s best-maintained manor parks, it features more than 70 species of trees and shrubs as well as decorative elements that reflect its former grandeur.

Highlights include an impressive granite staircase made from blocks brought from Finland, a fountain, and the ornamental “Seasons” vase decorated with sculptures. Today, the manor house is privately owned and can only be viewed from the outside, but the park remains open for visitors to enjoy its scenic landscapes, historic atmosphere, and walking trails. It is a valued cultural heritage site that combines natural beauty with the history of the Burtnieki estate.
