The island has its own source of fresh water and electricity supplied through a power line connected to mainland Luzon, with a small community residing there.
It sits in the Samar Sea near the San Bernardino Strait, has a tropical rainforest climate with average temperatures around 23°C, and is accessible by a 30-45 minute boat ride from Matnog town.
