Castle Downeen Estate Tower is a historic stone lookout tower located at Downeen Point near Rosscarbery in County Cork, Ireland. Built around the early 19th century, it is believed to have served as a signal tower, observation point, and boundary marker for the Castle Downeen estate, occupying a prominent position with wide views of the surrounding coastline. The tower stands within the grounds of the former estate and overlooks Castle Bay, an area also associated with the nearby ruins of Downeen Castle, a much older medieval tower house situated on a rocky coastal outcrop. Together, these structures reflect the area's long history of defence, navigation, and coastal settlement. Although the tower is now in a ruinous state, it remains a distinctive local landmark admired for its historic character, stone craftsmanship, and dramatic setting along the Wild Atlantic Way.
