Castle of Ourém is a medieval fortress crowning the hilltop village of Ourém in central Portugal's Santarém district, with origins in the 12th century when conquered from the Moors around 1136 and donated by King Afonso Henriques to his daughter Princess Teresa.

Its original Romanesque walls were largely rebuilt in the 15th century by D. Afonso, 4th Count of Ourém and grandson of Nuno Álvares Pereira, into an innovative military-residential complex featuring three quadrangular towers in a triangular enclosure, two large pentagonal bulwark towers for enhanced artillery defense, a central cistern ensuring self-sufficiency during sieges, and the adjacent Paço dos Condes as his grand residence blending Gothic and Mudéjar styles.

Damaged by the 1755 earthquake and French invasions, it was classified a National Monument in 1910, restored in the 1930s-1940s, and now offers panoramic views alongside ties to House of Bragança legends like the Moura Oureana.
