Chinen Castle Ruins are the remains of an ancient Ryukyuan fortress located in Nanjo, Okinawa, on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Believed to be one of the oldest castles in the Ryukyu Islands, it served as the stronghold of local rulers and occupied an important religious and strategic position in the region. The site consists of two connected sections, known as the Old Castle and the New Castle, which showcase different styles of stone construction from different periods.

The ruins were also an important pilgrimage destination during the Ryukyu Kingdom and remain associated with local spiritual traditions. Today, Chinen Castle Ruins are protected as a National Historic Site and are valued for their historical significance, distinctive stone walls, and scenic coastal views.
