Copper Canyon (Barranca del Cobre) is a spectacular network of six interconnected canyons in the Sierra Madre Occidental of Chihuahua, Mexico.

Covering a vast area and carved by rivers over millions of years, the canyon system is known for its dramatic cliffs, deep gorges, diverse landscapes, and the distinctive copper-green colour of its rocky walls that inspired its name. The region is also home to the Indigenous Rarámuri (Tarahumara) people and is famous for the scenic El Chepe railway, which passes through mountains, tunnels, and bridges while offering breathtaking views of one of Mexico’s greatest natural wonders.
