Din Garh
Pakistan, Pakistan
Din Garh (also spelled Dingarh) is a historic fort and nearby abandoned village in the Cholistan Desert of Punjab, Pakistan, located in Bahawalpur District about 28 kilometres from Mandi Yazman and roughly 70 kilometres from Bahawalpur city.
The site consists of the ruined brick and mud structures of Din Garh Fort, which rises from the desert sands and is associated with the region’s older heritage, alongside a cluster of closed mud houses, a mosque, narrow streets, and old water points that suggest the village once supported a small community before being abandoned, possibly due to the extreme heat and changing livelihood patterns in the arid landscape.
Today Din Garh is known mainly as a remote, atmospheric desert destination for adventure travellers, history enthusiasts, and local explorers who ride or drive along the improving road to see the fort ruins and the silent, empty village surrounded by the flat, sandy expanse of Cholistan.
