Eforie Nord is a seaside resort town on Romania’s Black Sea coast in Constanța County, Northern Dobruja, located about 14 kilometers south of Constanța and positioned between the Black Sea and the famous salt lake Techirghiol.

It developed as a health spa resort and remains particularly popular for wellness tourism, thanks to the therapeutic black mud from Techirghiol Lake that has healing properties for people with osteoarticular and rheumatic problems. The resort is the third most popular in Romania after Mamaia and Mangalia, and it’s especially known for attracting families due to its beautiful, long, wide sandy beaches with gentle sea entry and its focus on wellness and family holidays rather than wild nightlife.

Eforie Nord has a population of about 4,598 people and is part of the larger town of Eforie, which was formed in 1966 by merging the northern resort Eforie Nord with the southern spa town Eforie Sud, though Eforie Sud remains the administrative center. The resort features plenty of beach bars, numerous hotels (many built during the communist era), spa and treatment centers with therapeutic pools and mud baths, and the famous “Băile Reci” facility on the salt lake where visitors can apply the healing black mud.
