Fort Good Hope, also known as Fort Goede Hoop or Fort de Goede Hoop, is a historic Dutch fort located in Senya Beraku in the Central Region of Ghana, strategically situated on a promontory near a cove overlooking a tranquil beach lined with coconut palms.

Initially established in 1667 when the Dutch arrived at the Gold Coast, the fort was built in 1704-1705 with permission from the Queen of Agona, and it was the last fort built by the Dutch on the Gold Coast, constructed specifically to tap into the gold, ivory, and slave trade in the hinterland kingdom of Akyem.

Originally a small triangular fort shielded by three bastions and a curtain wall, it was expanded in 1715 to include expansive prisons for male and female captives as inter-ethnic conflicts among the Asante, Akyem, Akwamu, and other groups resulted in a surge of prisoners-of-war slaves, transforming it into a hub deeply involved in the tragic transatlantic slave trade.

The fort captured by the British in 1782 and fully ceded to them in 1868 during the exchange of forts, after which the Dutch abandoned it in 1816; it fell into disuse by 1957 and today serves as a small bed-and-breakfast/rest house that visitors can visit free of charge.
