Fortune Island
Nasugbu, Philippines, Philippines
Fortune Island is a small, 27‑hectare island about 14 kilometers off the coast of Nasugbu in Batangas province, Philippines, facing the South China Sea.
It was once an exclusive luxury resort built in a Greco‑Roman style, famous for its white sand beach, a salt‑water pool, and a striking acropolis of faux Greek columns and statues perched on a limestone cliff overlooking the ocean.
The resort closed in the mid‑2000s and the island has since become a partly abandoned, semi‑rustic destination known for its dramatic cliffside scenery, snorkeling, island camping, and day trips organized by local boat operators from Nasugbu.
Visitors usually pay a small entrance fee and must bring their own food, water, and basic supplies, since facilities on the island are very limited, but the mix of white sand, turquoise waters, and photogenic ruins makes it a popular weekend escape from Manila.
