Fuga Island
Philippines, Philippines
Fuga Island is a relatively large island and barangay located north of mainland Luzon in the Babuyan group, forming part of the municipality of Aparri in the province of Cagayan, Philippines.
It covers about 70–100 square kilometers of hilly, forested terrain with a small coastal village centered around Naguilian on the southern shore, and its highest point is Mount Nanguringan, rising to roughly 190 meters above sea level.
The island is privately owned today but has long‑standing local habitation and a simple rural economy, and it is also notable for its strategic location between Cagayan and the Batanes islands, as well as for its potential involvement in economic and defense discussions due to its airfield and proximity to key sea routes and undersea cables.
