Islander's Castle
San Jose, Dinagat Islands, Philippines, Philippines
Islander’s Castle, also known as the “White Castle” or Ecleo Mansion, is a distinctive, Disney‑style mansion perched on a hill in Barangay Aurelio, San Jose, Dinagat Islands in the Philippines.
It was built in 2007 as the private residence of former Dinagat Islands Governor Glenda Ecleo, widow of the late Ruben Ecleo Sr., and reportedly cost around 350 million pesos, making it one of the most eye‑catching and talked‑about structures in the relatively small island province.
The mansion combines whimsical, fairy‑tale‑like architecture with sweeping views of San Jose town and the surrounding sea, and while it was originally a closed private residence, it has increasingly become a visible landmark and occasional tourism stop, with visitors able to view and photograph the castle from the gates and nearby vantage points.
