Ivuhos
Sabtang, Philippines, Philippines
Ivuhos is a small uninhabited island under the jurisdiction of Sabtang in the province of Batanes, the northernmost part of the Philippines, lying just west of Sabtang across a deep channel about 2 kilometers wide.
It is a low‑lying coral‑limestone island, around 6.5 square kilometers in area, with a gently rolling interior and a prominent hill at its southern tip, surrounded by steep cliffs except along a narrow eastern side where a fine‑sand coral beach and small dunes form the only practical landing spot.
The island is uninhabited today, though historical surveys show a small settlement once existed near the south end, and PHIVOLCS classifies it as an inactive volcano, with a nearby submarine seamount that last erupted in 1854; its clear waters, uncrowded beach, and remote location make it a quiet, scenic side destination for visitors exploring Sabtang and the rest of Batanes.
