Kilmeadan Castle Ruins are located near the village of Kilmeadan in County Waterford, on the banks of the River Suir.

The site was an important stronghold of the powerful le Poer (Power) family during the medieval period and played a significant role in the local history of the region. The original castle dates back to at least the late 13th century and later passed through several prominent families. During the Cromwellian campaign in Ireland around 1650, the castle was captured and destroyed, ending its role as a major fortified residence.

Today, the ruins consist mainly of the remains of a later house built on or near the foundations of the medieval castle, along with surrounding earthworks that hint at the site's former importance. Set in a scenic riverside location, Kilmeadan Castle remains a notable historical landmark and a reminder of County Waterford’s medieval heritage.
