Kinlough Castle is a medieval tower house located near Shrule in County Mayo, Ireland, on the banks of the Black River.

The site is a protected National Monument and is associated with the powerful Burke family, who were major landowners in western Ireland during the medieval period. The castle likely originated as a hall house in the 13th century before being expanded and remodeled into a four-storey tower house during the 16th century.

Later additions included defensive features such as gun loops, as well as fireplaces and chimney stacks that improved comfort for its occupants. Although now roofless and unoccupied, Kinlough Castle remains an impressive example of medieval Irish architecture. Its surviving walls and historic setting offer valuable insight into the evolution of fortified residences and the history of the Burke family in County Mayo.
