Kotor Old Town in Montenegro is a well-preserved medieval urban complex located at the end of the Bay of Kotor, renowned for its rich history and striking architecture influenced by Byzantine, Venetian, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.

The fortress city was originally established over 2,000 years ago, with major development during the Venetian rule between the 15th and 18th centuries, which fortified it and gave it much of its distinctive architectural character. Visitors enter through the impressive Renaissance-style Sea Gate built in 1555, featuring the winged lion of St. Mark.

The town's narrow streets lead to notable landmarks such as St. Tryphon's Cathedral, a Romanesque structure from 1166, and various palaces like the Drago Palace showcasing Gothic windows. The Old Town also features historic squares like St. Tryphon Square and Arms Square with a functioning clock tower dating back over 400 years. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Kotor Old Town combines centuries of history with vibrant modern life, making it a cultural treasure on the Adriatic coast.
