Kpalime
Plateaux Region, Togo
Kpalimé is a leafy, mid‑sized town in the Plateaux Region of Togo, about 120 kilometers north of the capital Lomé and roughly 15 kilometers from the Ghanaian border. It lies in a hilly, forested area dotted with cocoa and coffee plantations, giving it a green, cool climate and a more relaxed atmosphere than the big coastal cities. The town serves as the administrative capital of the Kloto prefecture and is known both as an agricultural hub and as a popular base for exploring the surrounding countryside, including nearby waterfalls such as Cascade de Womé and the slopes of Mount Agou, Togo’s highest peak. Kpalimé also has a lively market scene, traditional handicrafts, and several cultural and eco‑tourism sites, making it one of the most attractive inland destinations in southern Togo.
