Kyiv National Botanical Garden, officially the M.M. Hryshko National Botanical Garden, is a major botanical institution on the right bank slopes of the Dnipro River in Kyiv, considered one of the largest and richest botanical gardens in Europe by area and by the diversity of its living collections.

Conceived around 1918 and founded in the mid-1930s, it became an independent research institution of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, now protecting roughly 130–170 hectares as part of the country’s nature reserve fund and recognized as a site of natural and historical-cultural importance.

The garden maintains about 11,000–13,000 taxa of plants from all continents, organized into botanical–geographical sections such as “Far East”, “Central Asia”, “Caucasus”, “Crimea”, “Steppes of Ukraine” and “Ukrainian Carpathians”, alongside extensive arboretum areas with groves of birch, oak, maple, linden, nut trees and many ornamental shrubs.
