Lough Rynn Castle is a historic estate near Mohill in County Leitrim, situated on the shores of Lough Rynn and surrounded by extensive gardens and woodland.

The present castle originated as a grand Victorian residence built for the Clements family, Earls of Leitrim, during the 19th century and later became one of Ireland’s best-known castle hotels. The estate has a much longer history, as it stands on lands once controlled by the Mac Raghnaill (Reynolds) clan, who were the medieval rulers of the local area.

The ruins of their earlier castle still survive near the lake, providing a link to the region’s Gaelic past before the land was confiscated during the English Plantation of the 17th century. Today, Lough Rynn Castle is renowned for its elegant architecture, landscaped grounds, walled gardens, and lakeside setting.
