Lubang Island is the largest island in the Lubang Island Group, located off the northwest coast of Mindoro in the province of Occidental Mindoro, Philippines, covering roughly 125 to 200 square kilometers and forming part of the Verde Island Passage marine corridor.

The island is shared by the two municipalities of Lubang and Looc, and it is known for its long white‑sand beaches, rainforested hills, coral‑rich coastal waters, and a quiet, laid‑back atmosphere that puts it well off the usual mass‑tourism circuit.

It also carries a notable piece of modern history as the hiding place of Hiroo Onoda, a Japanese soldier who continued to live in its jungle for decades after World War II ended, adding an extra layer of intrigue to its natural scenery and developing low‑key tourism scene.
