Maribor Pohorje is a mountain range located just south of Maribor in the Styria region of northeastern Slovenia, known for its lush forests, peat bogs, lakes, and varied natural beauty.

It is the largest ski resort in Slovenia, offering 42 kilometers of ski slopes along with extensive cross-country trails and night skiing, making it a popular outdoor destination year-round. The mountain has three main ski areas - Snow Stadium, Bolfenk, and Areh with a variety of slopes for all skill levels and mountain biking trails during the summer.

It is also famous for hosting the women's Ski World Cup races called the "Golden Fox," a prestigious event held since 1964. Besides winter sports, Maribor Pohorje offers hiking, biking, horseback riding, and other recreational activities, all easily accessible from Maribor city, as the resort is connected by a funicular and public transport. The area is notable for its rich flora and fauna, including some endemic species and a primeval forest called Šumik, making it a green oasis in the region.
