Mel'nytsya-Podil's'ka
Ukraine, Ukraine
Mel'nytsya-Podil's'ka in Ukraine is a rural settlement in Chortkiv Raion, Ternopil Oblast, first mentioned in the 11th century and soon destroyed during the Mongol invasion of Rus'.
From 1362, it fell under the possession of the Koriatovych family, with Lanckoroński magnates ruling the territory from the late 16th century onward amid Podilia's turbulent history of invasions and shifting controls.
Situated near the Dnister River, the area reflects typical Podilian rural heritage with potential remnants of fortifications like those common in the region under noble families, though no prominent castle defines it today.
