Museum of the Future
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
The Museum of the Future is one of Dubai's most iconic and visually stunning landmarks, officially inaugurated on February 22, 2022, and recognized by National Geographic magazine as one of the world's most beautiful museums. This unique torus-shaped (ring-shaped) building depicts a ring around a void, symbolizing future knowledge that is yet to be revealed, and its exterior facade is covered in flowing Arabic calligraphy featuring poetic lines by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, including the inspiring quote "The future belongs to those who imagine it, design it and execute it". Unlike traditional museums that focus on history, this "living" museum with constantly changing exhibits looks ahead to explore the next 50 years of human innovation, combining elements of exhibition, immersive theatre, and themed attraction where each floor feels like an interactive film set from a future you can inhabit and explore. Inside, visitors embark on a journey to 2071 through cutting-edge exhibits including OSS Hope (a space station experience), The Heal Institute featuring future solutions for Earth and a DNA library of thousands of species, Al Waha (a digital detox and wellbeing zone), Tomorrow Today showcasing real-world innovations in robotics, AI, and sustainability, and Future Heroes, an interactive space designed for children aged 3 to 10 to develop future skills. The museum serves as a global platform for defining new opportunities for humanity and a factory for futuristic ideas, building on the visionary culture that has transformed the UAE into one of the world's most advanced nations in less than 50 years, welcoming people of all ages to see, touch, and shape their shared future.
