Verified My Son Sanctuary

Quang Nam Province, Vietnam

My Son Sanctuary is an ancient cluster of Hindu temple towers located in the Duy Xuyen District of Quang Nam Province, Vietnam, dating from the 4th to the 13th centuries.

It served as the religious and political center of the Champa Kingdom and was primarily dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. The complex reflects the influence of Indian Hinduism merged with local Cham culture and includes several architectural groups centered on a main temple representing Mount Meru, the cosmic center in Hindu cosmology.

Constructed mainly from red bricks without mortar, the temples are notable for their engineering resilience and intricate sculptures. The site was significantly damaged during wars but has undergone extensive restoration and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by a lush valley and mountains, My Son is both a remarkable cultural heritage site and a place of stunning natural beauty, attracting visitors interested in history, architecture, and spirituality.
