Omoro Botanical Garden, also known as Omoro Arboretum, is located within Ocean Expo Park in Motobu, Okinawa, Japan. It was opened in 1980 to commemorate the Okinawa International Ocean Exposition and is free to the public.
The garden features about 400 species of salt-resistant and native Okinawan plants, many of which are mentioned in the Omoro Sōshi, an ancient collection of Okinawan poems and songs. The collection includes various types of trees, shrubs, herbs, and over 110 wild orchid species, many endangered and native to the Ryukyu Islands.
The garden is designed in themed zones and is adjacent to the Native Okinawan Village, providing visitors a rich cultural and botanical experience within beautiful subtropical surroundings.
