The Onomichi History Museum is a local museum in Onomichi, Hiroshima, housed in the city’s former Onomichi Bank Head Office, a Taishō‑era (early 20th‑century) building that is itself an important cultural property and a symbol of Onomichi’s history as a prosperous port and financial center.

Exhibits focus on the history of Onomichi and include archaeological materials from medieval remains in the area, as well as artworks and cultural artifacts related to writers and artists connected to the city, with special exhibitions held twice a year to explore particular themes in local history and culture.

The museum is located at 1‑14‑1 Kubo, Onomichi, a short walk from JR Onomichi Station and the nearby Onomichi Cinema Museum; it is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00 (last entry at 17:30), closed on Tuesdays (with some New Year holidays), and charges a modest admission fee for adults while admitting junior high students and younger free, making it an accessible and informative place to understand how Onomichi developed as a “miniature garden city” where people, goods, and money gathered along the Onomichi Channel.
