The Pakistan Forest Institute Museum is located in the main building of the Pakistan Forest Institute within the University of Peshawar Campus in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
Established with a few items in 1952 but formally set up in 1965, the museum consists of three large halls measuring 160×40 feet, 80×39 feet, and 79×39 feet, plus a gallery on the west side, with wood-paneled walls displaying important timber species grown in Pakistan and beautiful teak parquet flooring throughout.
The museum is organized into four main divisions covering forestry research, biological sciences research, wood products research, and forest education, featuring exhibits such as forest zonation models showing main tree species, a model of irrigated forest plantation demonstrating tree crop techniques in arid and semi-arid regions with canal irrigation, numerous photos of Pakistan's forest types and tree species, technical papers and articles published by the forestry division.
Exhibits on important tree species grown in Pakistan, a large collection of medicinal plants found in forests along with pharmaceutical products obtained from them, a revolving cabinet with microscopic wood structures of important timber species, a model of wood seasoning kiln explaining timber seasoning techniques, and forestry instruments including surveying tools for forest areas, equipment for measuring tree heights and girths, sawing tools, and logging equipment that also relate to the Degree in Forestry curriculum at Pakistan Forest Institute, making it particularly interesting for students.
