Parque Municipal Summit, often called Summit Botanical Garden, is a 250‑hectare ecological park and botanical garden located just outside Panama City, near Gamboa and adjacent to Soberanía National Park.

Established in 1923 as the Experimental Farm Summit by the Panama Canal organization, it was originally used to test exotic plant species in Panama’s tropical climate, and later evolved into a municipal park with a major botanical collection and a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center.

The park features more than 1,500 plant species along well‑maintained trails, as well as a small zoo‑style refuge where about 300 rescued animals, including the harpy eagle, jaguars, monkeys, sloths, and many birds, live in enclosures and are not returned to the wild.

Today it serves as an important site for conservation, environmental education, and recreation, with visitors able to walk through lush gardens, observe native and exotic wildlife, and learn about Panama’s biodiversity.
