Pinget Island
Magsingal, Philippines, Philippines
Pinget Island, also known locally as Puro Pinget or simply “Puro,” is a small island barangay off the coast of Magsingal in Ilocos Sur, Philippines, situated near the mouth of the Magsingal River.
It faces Lapog Bay and is known for its quiet, rural atmosphere, agricultural land, and traditional fishing and farming communities that live on the island. The place is sometimes called the “island with no identity” because it has long been overlooked in regional tourism, yet it offers a glimpse of authentic Ilocano coastal life, with simple stilt houses, river‑and‑sea‑linked livelihoods, and, in certain conditions, a narrow strip of land that can submerge and temporarily turn the area into a more pronounced island during heavy rains or high water.
