Pousada de Baucau is a charming pink-colored colonial-era hotel in the old part of Baucau, Timor-Leste, originally built in the 1950s as “Estalagem de Santiago” and renamed in the 1960s.

It has been a key landmark reflecting Portuguese colonial heritage and underwent significant restructuring after Timor-Leste’s independence, reopening in 2002 with prominent attendance including General Xanana Gusmão. The hotel features air-conditioned rooms with ensuite bathrooms, balconies, and a restaurant serving traditional Timorese and Portuguese cuisine with views of the ocean.
