Verified Ring of Kerry

County Kerry, Ireland

The Ring of Kerry is a world-famous 179-kilometer (111-mile) circular tourist route around the Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry, southwestern Ireland.

Starting and ending in the town of Killarney, the drive passes through charming villages including Kenmare, Sneem, Waterville, Cahersiveen, Glenbeigh, and Killorglin. The route showcases breathtaking scenery at every turn, from dramatic coastal cliffs and pristine white sandy beaches to lush green valleys, lakes, rivers, and waterfalls like Torc Waterfall.

Famous stops include Moll’s Gap, the Gap of Dunloe, Ladies View panoramic viewpoint, Ross Castle, Muckross House, and ancient sites like Staigue stone fort and Ogham stones. The area is so remote and tranquil that it hosts one of only three Gold Tier International Dark Sky Reserves on Earth. Tour buses travel counter-clockwise due to narrow roads, so private drivers are often recommended to go clockwise via Kenmare first to avoid delays.
