Roslee Castle is a medieval tower house located beside the coast at Easky in County Sligo, Ireland.
Built in 1207 by Oliver McDonnell, it occupied a strategic position overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the mouth of the River Easky, making it an important defensive and coastal stronghold. The castle later passed into the hands of the O'Dowd family, a powerful Gaelic clan in the region.
Historical records indicate that the site once included additional buildings, such as a kitchen, bakehouse, and defensive enclosure, though only the main tower survives today. Despite centuries of weathering, the impressive stone tower remains a prominent landmark on the Sligo coastline. Visitors can still see its thick walls and internal stairways while enjoying panoramic views of the sea, making Roslee Castle an enduring symbol of the area's medieval heritage.
