Rossmore Castle, also known as Rossmore Park, was a grand Gothic Revival mansion built in 1827 near Monaghan town in County Monaghan, Ireland.

Designed by architect William Vitruvius Morrison and later expanded by William Henry Lynn, it served as the residence of the Barons Rossmore and became one of the most impressive country houses in the region. The castle was known for its striking towers, elaborate architecture, and lively social gatherings during the 19th century. Over time, repeated extensions made it an unusually large building, with more than 100 windows and several towers.

After the Second World War, severe structural problems caused by dry rot forced the family to abandon the castle. The building fell into ruin and was demolished in the 1970s, leaving only remnants within what is now Rossmore Forest Park. Today, the ruins and surrounding parkland provide a reminder of the estate’s former grandeur and its important place in County Monaghan’s history.
