Sarukake Castle Remains (also called Sarukake-jō or Sarugake-jō) are the ruins of a medieval mountain castle on a ridge that straddles the border between Kurashiki City and Yakage Town in Okayama Prefecture, western Japan.

Built in the 15th–16th centuries as a key base for the Bitchu region, the castle served as an important stronghold during the turbulent Sengoku period, with its layout designed around narrow ridges, terraced baileys, and defensive earthworks rather than a single central keep. Today the site is a quiet, forested historic park: most of the original wooden buildings are gone, but well-preserved traces of stone walls, dry moats, and compartmented enclosures remain, and the ruins are recognized as a local cultural site with hiking access and views over the surrounding valleys and Seto Inland Sea area.

While sometimes mentioned in tours of Kurashiki, the castle is actually located a short distance northwest of Kurashiki’s famous Bikan merchant quarter, on higher ground above the route between Kurashiki and Yakage, making it a good example of a functional, strategically placed kobayama-style mountain fortress rather than a grand display castle.
