Slītere National Park, located in the Kurzeme Region on the west coast of Latvia, is the country's smallest national park, covering about 265 square kilometers including a significant marine area.

It is situated on the Courland Peninsula, notably at Cape Kolka, where the waters of the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Riga meet. The park features diverse landscapes, including broadleaf and coniferous forests, bogs, wetlands, dunes, and sandy beaches along the Baltic coast. This area is known for its rich biodiversity, hosting numerous rare plant and animal species, including the Baltic grey seal, Eurasian lynx, and elk.

The park is especially renowned for birdwatching, as it lies on major bird migratory flyways, attracting thousands of birds during migration seasons. Visitors to Slītere can enjoy various outdoor activities such as hiking on nature trails, cycling, and exploring observation towers.

The park also holds cultural and historical significance, with sites like the Slītere Lighthouse and ancient Liv fishing villages nearby, as well as traditional local cuisine to experience. Its forests and coastal features have remained relatively untouched by economic activity, preserving a unique "Northern Rainforest" microclimate with a rich variety of plants and insects, making it a vital natural sanctuary in Latvia.
