Target Island
Philippines, Philippines
Target Island, also known locally as Alibatan Island, is a small 5‑hectare island off the coast of Bulalacao in Oriental Mindoro, Philippines, shaped somewhat like a stingray or a target when viewed from above.
It is famous for its pristine white‑sand beach, clear turquoise waters, and a picturesque lagoon in the center that is believed to have formed from bomb‑impact craters during World War II, when American forces used the island as a target practice site.
Today the island has no entrance fee, remains relatively undeveloped, and is popular for island hopping, swimming, snorkeling, and enjoying the peaceful scenery, making it an emerging yet low‑key beach destination in southern Oriental Mindoro.
