Templehouse Castle is a medieval castle ruin located beside Templehouse Lake near Ballymote in County Sligo, Ireland.

The site is closely associated with the Knights Templar, who received the lands in the early 13th century, and later passed into the hands of the Knights Hospitaller after the Templars were dissolved. The castle was originally built as a fortified stronghold and was later adapted into a residence. Historical records mention the castle as early as 1271, and it suffered significant damage during conflicts in the 17th century, particularly during the Irish uprising of 1641.

Today, the impressive ruins stand on the shores of the lake within the Temple House estate. Although partially collapsed, the remaining walls and architectural features provide a fascinating glimpse into medieval life and make the castle one of County Sligo’s most evocative historic landmarks.
