Terebovlia Castle in Terebovlia, Ukraine, traces its roots to early fortifications from the 9th-10th centuries under Prince Vasylko Rostyslavych, with multiple rebuilds including a stone version in the 1360s by Polish King Casimir III and major expansions in 1534 by Andrzej Tęczyński and 1631 by Andrzej Bałaban, featuring walls up to 18 meters high and 5 meters thick, plus an elevated entrance reached by drawbridge.

Positioned on a canyon edge overlooking the Seret River, it endured over 15 Tatar raids between 1605-1625, Cossack capture in 1648, and a famed 1675 siege by 10,000 Turkish-Tatar forces under Pasha Ibrahim Shyshman, which defenders held until relief arrived, saving the region.

Now part of the Castles of Ternopil Oblast National Reserve, the imposing ruins preserve lower walls and offer panoramic views, symbolizing centuries of border defense amid Polish-Lithuanian, Ottoman, and later conflicts.
