The Tower House of Garcia d'Avila, known as Casa da Torre, is a 16th-century fortified complex in Mata de São João, Bahia, Brazil, built by Garcia de Sousa d'Ávila, son of the first governor-general of Brazil, Tomé de Sousa.

Constructed on a hill with clear views of the Atlantic Ocean, it served as a military fortress, residence, and early warning post for the city of Salvador against approaching enemies. The complex included a tower, castle, and church, and became the center of a powerful colonial estate that expanded over centuries across northeastern Brazil.

It played a key role in colonial defense, trade, and the expansion of cattle ranching, influencing the culture of the region. Now in ruins, it is a protected national heritage site that offers historical insight into Brazil’s colonial past and architectural legacy.
