Vestígios do Castelo de Odemira in Odemira, Portugal, date from the 13th century following the Christian reconquest, with reconstruction ordered in 1265 under King Afonso III after the town received its charter in 1256, originally atop Roman-era foundations from the 1st century BCE that declined by Augustan times.

The medieval fortress featured defensive walls possibly including a second enclosure around the village, but entered decline from the 15th century, reduced to scattered wall fragments by the 18th century when ruins served as an animal quarantine site and manure dump.

By the 19th century it was largely quarried and overgrown, with 1974 clearance efforts destroying further traces; today, remnants integrate with modern structures like the 1999 Biblioteca Municipal built within the ruins.
