Acadia National Park is a national park located on the mid-section of the Maine coast, primarily covering much of Mount Desert Island, as well as parts of the Schoodic Peninsula, Isle au Haut, and other smaller islands.

It features a diverse landscape that includes over 20 mountains, rugged coastlines, granite domes, lakes, streams, wetlands, forests, and rocky beaches. Cadillac Mountain, the tallest mountain on the U.S. Atlantic Coast at 1,530 feet, offers spectacular sunrise views. The park is known for its rich natural biodiversity, historic carriage roads, and cultural heritage, with a history that includes the Wabanaki people and early European settlers.

Established as the first national park east of the Mississippi River, Acadia provides abundant opportunities for hiking, biking, wildlife observation, and enjoying scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding islands.
