Al Shalalat Park
Egypt, Egypt
Al Shalalat Park, also known as Shallalat Gardens, is a historic public park in the city center of Alexandria, Egypt, located in the Al Shatby neighborhood near major streets such as Salah Mostafa and Abou Qir.
Dating back over a century, it is one of the oldest green spaces in the city and used to function as a botanical and recreational garden with many old trees, shrubs, flowerbeds, and grassy areas, as well as a small pond and pathways that make it a quiet escape from the surrounding urban traffic.
The site is also notable for containing fragments of the ancient Hellenistic‑era city wall of Alexandria, giving it both green‑space value and archaeological interest, though it has suffered from neglect and under‑maintenance in recent years and is now the focus of studies and proposals aimed at revitalizing its layout and facilities.
